Summer Aspirations

Grandma and the kids in Antonito
This is my summer to everything I want. I am going to run the 10k BoulderBoulder, climb Mt Blanca, run the Pioneer Day 5k, go to Blue Lake and fish, go to the sand dunes with my kids, and help bring my cows to the mountains.

No life without Wife

My children mean everything to me. But sometimes I want to pull my hair out and scream! It is then that I realize that mama needs a break. Circumstances as they have been haven't allowed Jonathan and I to have a real date in quite a while. And this week we were supposed to have an awesome date and things happened so we couldn't. I hope that here soon we can actually go. If I don't get a break soon I will not be a happy wife :) My busy life has included, Hunter teething, getting into everything, being super cute. Autumn is still potty training, doing so so with that, getting an attitude with me (NOT ALREADY!) but she is so cute when she talks and I still think she is the most beautiful little girl I have ever seen.

Home Improvements

For a year now, we had a stick built step (the bottom step was broken), we had a not so lovely dirt front yard and we had the dog pen wrapped around our house which was not so great on the smell and looks. So a couple weeks ago, we ripped out the dog pen, and started building and digging for the forms for our concrete steps. We got some beautiful steps and sidewalk. We got some plastic sheeting for our flower garden. Then we put gravel on that and lined it with nice big rocks. We put up a chain linked fence around the yard to keep critters out and children in. And today we planted our zoysia grass plugs....2000 of them! Katie helped us and it took all morning and a good chunk of the afternoon. But it looks lovely....well lovelyer ha ha. It was an awesome project and one we can keep improving. It has been a long and busy two weeks, but we can pat ourselves on the back. Our children get a yard and our lawn will hopefully survive.

Training Miss Autumn

Day 6 of potty training Autumn. The first three days were rough. But the past two days she has had many successes. Her sticker chart is looking more stickery :) and her "special treat" is tic tacs. Who knew the power of a tic tac? But I am certain we are not giving up this time and reverting back to diapers. What finally made me plow ahead with the potty training? I could not bear to see my two year old with no longer chubby legs who looks more like a young kid run around in a diaper. She is super tall for her age too so she gives the allusion she is 3 or 4. I hear the first kid is the hardest. Well, honestly she has been easy so I hope I am not just getting my hopes up.

Got Heart?

5k here I come. Its not til July but there is no time like the present to think about it :) I do not like running....ahem, used to not like running. A couple days ago I jogged 2 miles and now thats all I want to do. Run run run. This is the start of a good relationship with running :)
