Spring 2014 updates

Obviously we have been busy as I havn't posted since Emmett was born. We are busy irrigating right now and making the most of the nice days when the wind doesn't blow.

Autumn- Is playing soccer. Half the time she just flutters around like a lost butterfly but it is cute and she is learning. She is my big helper still. We like to water our bulbs we planted together and soon it will be our garden. She talks our ears off most of the time too. This summer she will be doing some swimming lessons. She is quite the fish so I hope its comes easier to her than soccer hee hee.

Hunter-Thinks he is superman/hulk/batman. He is talking better now and has an actual vocabulary. I was worried he wouldn't speak at all but he is smart and is not being lazy about sounding out his words. He is half way potty trained and now that its warmer out and clean up is easier I bet (hope) he is potty trained by his 3rd birthday. He tags a long with daddy as much as he can.

Emmett- Is 7 months old. Where did the time go??? I am so sad my baby does not like to sit still anymore. He is army crawling. Eating solids. And he has moved out of our room and into big sisters. He has cut his two bottom teeth as well and he likes to bite :( ouch!

Myself-I have taken a job at Splash Land as a manager staring the end of May. I will be doing front desk, concessions, book keeping and life guarding. So it will be a busy summer. I am striving for little hours so I can be with my children as much as possible. Although it will be good for Jonathan to take them some more. I am looking forward to getting some me time and exercising in the water. I just hope I can be the mother and wife I need to be while holding a job.

Jonathan- Busy busy busy as always! Harrowing, irrigating, moving cows, tagging babies. I think we will all be happy when the cows go to the mountains. He has mountain fever. But his church meetings keep him on his toes. But he is working hard to make time for his family and we love him for his strength and endurance and keeping us all together.

The addition to the house is amazing! We love love love all the space! Jonathan has his own office which spares us all the phone talking he has to do. The mud room has by far been my favorite part of the addition. No more dirty boots in my kitchen. No more gloves. Drenching bags. Calf pills....All in the mudroom now and its amazing :)

Recently we also got chickens! We got over a dozen chicks. Then a month later got another 12. We only had two die. One had a slipped tendon and had to be culled and the other was a day old chick that we have no idea why it died. We kept the chicks inside til they were 4 weeks old (another amazing thing about our mudroom, we had room for our chicks to get their feathers) Jonathan built them an amazing coop and now I am obsessed with them. More like I just really like chickens right now. They are funny creatures. I hope the foxes do not find them.
Soon we are getting pigs. And we are also getting a new puppy. She will be our inside dog since we didn't have much luck with our german shorthair we had. It really will be a busy summer. Anyways, that is our updates. I will put up pictures next time I post.

Emmett Jonathan Bush

Its a boy! Emmett Jonathan Bush was born October 2nd at 7:21pm. I went in for an appointment and my midwife stripped membranes. I was already 5cm almost 6. After the strip we went walking and I thought I was having contractions but they only felt like the braxtons. We went in anyways and they admitted me to labor and delivery. At 6:30 my midwife checked me and I was already 8cm! She went ahead and broke my water and things went very fast after that. I got to go all natural again with no pain relief. I used the shower and got to stand during contractions and Jonathan was an excellent coach. I had lots of support from the staff and midwife too. I pushed for 15 minutes and there he was. He got to stay on my chest for a good ten minutes before they took him for check up. It was beautiful, Jonathan said "Its a boy!" and we are in love with him and our family. We are so blessed for such a healthy little boy, he weighed 8 lbs 10 oz and 21 inches long.

Harvest Time!

We had our first little freeze so we decided it was time to harvest all we could from our garden. We got lots of corn and we all picked the pumpkins. We got 34 pumpkins this year! The kids had a blast and so did Jonathan and I. We got some big ones this year and we can't wait to carve them. But for now they will sit in my dining room by the sliding glass door so they can orange up in the sun. Now that we have picked the pumpkins, I am REALLY ready for the baby to come! I told Autumn that when the pumpkins are ready to pick then the baby would be ready to come. So I hope it is soon! I am almost 39 weeks and I don't know if I want to wait much more than that :)

37 Weeks and end of Summer

We are at the end of summer but I am ready for the fall. No more hot days! The kids have been busy keeping me busy while Jonathan was gone for a couple of weeks. Top picture they are enjoying some icecream from wendys and the middle picture, Hunter and daddy doing some work in the tractor before he left for an archery season. But thankfully he is back now from his weeks of outfitting. He isn't done for good by any means but he has to stay close and within cell phone range now. I am finally 37 weeks full term! I would prefer this bub to stay put for at least another week to cook some more. I have been so busy with kids and stuff that it has not hit me yet that we will have three children. Now that the hubby is back, I think I will be able to prepare myself mentally for it.

Boy or Girl?

35 weeks, Is it a boy or girl? Now that this pregnancy is coming to a close I am wondering more and more what gender this bub has been for the last 9 months! We love our names we have for either gender. It won't be long til we know who it is! I am getting bigger and measuring big too. I am still cleaning like crazy, and unswept floors drive me bonkers. I am losing my energy but I am able to keep up with the kids and cleaning so far. I need to can some peaches soon and do a few more projects around the house. Jonathan is starting the hunting so he isn't around for days at a time, which is very hard some days especially at night when I can't sleep but have no one to talk to. But he won't be going far once I hit 37 weeks until the baby is born.

Autumn has been a good helper most of the time and mature. Although she has her emotional breakdowns which can be very trying. But she still helps most of the time rather than hinder. Hunter is a crazy man. There are no words to describe his naughty cuteness. The summer is coming to a close. I am starting to bake pumpkin pies, look for fall and halloween decorations and watch hunting videos :) Our pumpkins are getting bigger in the garden. Autumn knows that when the pumpkins are ready to pick, then the baby will be ready to come out :) Falls are so fun, even though it is the busiest time of year, there are always things to look forward to. Especially this year.

33 Weeks

Made it to 33 weeks. Feeling good as long as I do my walks so my feet don't swell :) I still have ankles!! By this point with my pregnancy with Hunter, I was swollen in my face, feet and hands. Not so much water retention with this one. Hospital bag is packed, baby car seat washed, and baby blanket made so we are almost ready. Nesting and cleaning are at a all time high.

In other news, Jonathan has been doing some hay and starting to get ready for outfitting this hunting season. We are trying to get our ducks all lined up so we are ready for this hectic fall coming. With all thats gonna happen, outfitting, round up, and new baby.....we will be some busy people.
Autumn and Hunter are growing like weeds and they are enjoying playing together. They keep me busy but are old enough that mommy actually has been able to get a break because they play together so well. I am enjoying that Hunter is two and it is better spacing between him and this baby. Its amazing what a few extra months will do.

5 Year Anniversary and Hunter's 2nd Birthday

Our actual anniversary was on the 19th of July. But we celebrated later by going on a little vacation to Grand Junction and Blue Mesa without the kids. It was really hot, like 106 degrees around 2pm. But we had a blast being by ourselves. We got to go salmon fishing at Blue Mesa which was so fun and relaxing. I am 30 weeks in the picture of me and Jonathan with the fish (and yes I have hair blowing in the poor mans face). For Hunter's 2nd birthday we had quite the day. First we made him pancakes and bacon (his favorite breakfast) then we went to splashland with some friends. The kids really liked it and I think they are turning into fish :) So after swimming and lunch we went home and deep cleaned the house . Which I am grateful that Jonathan was so willing to help me with since even the little chores are starting to get hard as this pregnancy progresses. Anyways, then I made Hunter's favorite dinner, honey glazed chicken, rice and green beans. After dinner we had family over for cake and icecream. I went ahead and did a sports theme and made him a baseball and basketball cake. Hunter loved all his presents especially since a lot of them were various kinds of balls :) My little 2 year old. I can't believe it. We have been blessed to have this little cutie for 2 years but it seems like just yesterday we were in shock at the ultrasound that told us we were going to have a boy. We love him so much.
